Customer service administrator

Location: Fradley Park, Lichfield

Rate: £ 20,000 p/a

Due to continued growth our client is offering a fantastic opportunity to join an existing

and established European Import team at their Lichfield gateway depot. You will be liaising

with Customers, European Partners and Suppliers to arrange the movement of freight from

origin to its destination both Nationally and Internationally.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities will include:

Liaising with their European Partners and Customers to find resolutions to any arising

challenges within agreed SLA’s.

Ensuring the accurate entry of data into the operational system, including importer

declarant details and clearance instructions.

Arrange shipment bookings with customers ensuring the recording of accurate

information to assist with a cost effective and efficient delivery.

Tracking and monitoring progress of shipments through to Pod, in line with KPIs and

customer SLA’s to ensure they maintain their high service level.

Check all shipment documentation, including hazardous paperwork, escalate any

discrepancies with their onsite DGSA.

First point of customer escalation for Partners, Suppliers & Customers both internal

and external, developing a strong and productive relationship.

Meet and wherever possible exceed customer expectations within the individual

customers budgetary and operational restrictions.

Spotting and developing additional revenue and business opportunities. Provide

quotations to customers for European road freight consignments.

Be compliant at all times and ensure that all regulatory paperwork is in accordance

with government guidelines and customs compliance procedures.

Help to contribute and adhere to their highly acclaimed ISO accreditations for Quality,

Energy and Environmental Management.

Provide high standards of customer service in a friendly and positive manner.

Work within a fast-paced environment with a can do attitude and a willingness to learn,

within a strong and supportive team.

The ideal candidate will be educated in Maths and English (oral and written) to GCSE,

Standard Grade or equivalent; grade A-C and be able to demonstrate highly competent

computer skills in all areas of Microsoft office.

Have experience of working within a customer focused/office environment with the ability

to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. A pragmatic, diligent approach to work and

superior capacity of understanding new concepts and applying them efficiently in a timely

manner.

Be hard working, meticulous with a flexible adaptable approach and who is a strong team

player.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

previous freight knowledge would be beneficial.

This role would ideally suit someone with a UK or European Road freight background.

Experience in customs and other modes of transport would be a real advantage but is not

essential as support and training will be provided to the right candidate.

Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.

The working hours will be Monday to Friday 08.30 - 17.00.
