Location: Lincoln
Rate: £ 11 p/h
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Salder Road, Lincoln, LN6 area for a van delivery driver.
This will be an ongoing position working 7am-4pm (approx finish time dependent on deliveries being completed) Monday to Saturday. First day training will be 6am-3pm.
Duties:
- Safely operate a van to deliver parcels to domestic and commercial properties (40-50 drops per day which can potentially increase as more experience is gained)
- Load and unload cargo from the vehicle using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse personnel to ensure smooth delivery operations
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the vehicle to ensure its safety and reliability
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
Skills:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a van driver or delivery driver
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues
- Strong organizational skills to plan routes and manage time effectively
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and maintenance
- Ability to lift heavy objects and load/unload cargo safely
- Familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus
