Location: Burntwood
Rate: £ 22,000-£24,000 p/a
We are working behalf of our customer based in Burntwood, and are looking to recruit a Deputy Production Manager to assist the Production Manager in the day to day running of the factory/warehouse and the management of Production operators. This position requires strong leadership skills. When Production manager is absent, the deputy manager steps into their position and takes over their duties. This could involve monitoring staff closely to measure their performance and compliance with rules and regulations.
The Role
This Role will Involve assisting the Production Manager on day-to-day jobs. Such as,
· Organising Orders
· Loading Programs on laser printing machines correctly.
· Collecting Stock correctly for production operatives
· Stock Takes
· Installing crimping tools into Hydraulic Presses
· Organising Deliveries and making sure it is put in allocated areas correctly.
· Cutting and Welding Wires to correct size to customer’s request.
· Being able to take responsibility on the day-to-day jobs if Production Manager is absent.
Be able to assist production if needed.
Skills & experience:
Excellent Communication Skills
Experienced in using various IT systems and software packages (training will be provided)
Organised with the ability to prioritise own workload and work under pressure.
Able to work collaboratively with different teams across the business.
Self motivated with a can-do attitude & a focused mindset
Eagerness to develop skills, knowledge and abilities in line with the growth across the company
Forklift licence (preferred)
Schedule
Monday to Friday (7.30 till 4.30 Monday to Friday) (Friday 7.30 till 12.30)- Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations and ensuring efficient functioning of the department
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for process improvement and quality control
- Manage the supply chain process, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve any equipment or machinery issues
- Assemble and analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement lean methodologies
- Support plant management in achieving production targets and maintaining a safe working environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and troubleshoot machinery
- Familiarity with lean methodologies and process improvement techniques
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
