Rate: £ 25,000 +

Position: CHD Trainer

Reporting to: Transport Manager

Based at: Wednesbury

Job Purpose

Supporting the Transport Management team to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient training of the CHD Operation to motivate and develop the teams reporting into them and reduce errors and avoidable cost to the business.

Training for new starters and on going support to existing employees.

Responsible for

Key Duties and responsibilities

· Continuous training of core CHD processes; ensuring all goods-in, goods-out and delivery processes are followed accordingly and correctly.

· To provide effective support to the CHD Transport Manager and Assistant Manager to ensure constant improvement in all areas of the operation.

· Daily coaching, development and motivation of staff, ensuring all relevant HR policies are followed.

· Key training provider to new starters to the department and ongoing training support to existing staff

· Manage communications with service providers and Company stakeholders to ensure agreed targets are met and enquiries are responded to in an accurate and timely manner.

· Ensure all site H&S and MHE checks are completed as required; raising any issues direct to the Transport Manager/Health & Safety Officer as required.

· Preparation and participation in CHD team meetings and planning groups as required.

· Ensuring CHD warehouse process systems are being followed and are correctly updated as and when needed

· Building Training matrix’s & plans for departmental staff.

· Ensuring safe loading of vehicles and the training is provided to staff where required

· Assisting with vehicle gatehouse checks

Essential qualities and behaviours we’re looking for

· Good communicator who’s able to positively engage with team members and relevant stakeholders.

· Excellent motivation skills; able to identify and address staff issues and concerns.

· Must be able to lead by example and champion the values of the Company.

· Must have good attention to detail and a passion to reduce errors and improve efficiency.

· This is a split shift role and will be expected to work with the warehouse, office and drivers where the training is needed so an element of flexibility is needed.

Qualifications, skills and experience

Essential

Strong leadership skills

FLT experience

H&S awareness

Competent IT skills; Excel, Word etc

Full driving licence less than 3points

Desirable

Proven Training experience

Previous final mile/Home Delivery experience

QC Knowledge/experience

Customer service experience
